oyyyyyyyy on one side....i am not a traditional person...i dont play by the rules...i make my own<<<<<huhuhuh keng nor 55555....anyway....on another side...i like when i see that Lao culture is being communicated so people can see what its like...and i said "like" becoz people are people...not everyone follows cultural tradition and social norms/mores exactly...humans make mistakes, or as some like to call it creating a "learning opportunity" in life, so i agree with the original poster that it happens...and people should just accept that a mother doesn't neccessarily have to be married...i mean Champa is alive--obviously her mother did a good job in raising her because she turned out to be a functional memebr of society...so it IS possible without a man<<<has always been 55555 i guess what i'm trying to say is that Mr. Yong Chanthalangsy should be proud that a strong Lao woman can raise her own kid just fine...and Mr. Chanthalangsy states an opinion about Lao women ("It’s misleading that a Lao woman could be such an easy woman")---but actually CHanthalangsy is misleading us into thinking ALL LAO WOMEN ARE THE SAME<<<<just becoz a character is a Lao woman does not mean another Lao woman will fit that character...Chanthalongsy obviously doesn't know the point of a soap opera....my deduction: know the subject before u talk about it or be prepared to be mistaken....soap operas are fiction...don't have to take it personal...
as for this comment>>>“If you cannot speak Lao, you shouldn’t pretend you can and then speak in such an ugly accent.”<<<he may as well shoot me down from my cloud....i only speak a little bit of Lao....so sad nor

and when i speak it, i guess i pretend to speak it with a terrible accent...

but i'm trying my best to teach myself...and learn from others....and what does this say about our people and our language? what if a Lao person doesn't know their own language and wants to learn? well, they aren't going to want to learn now becoz the Foreign Ministry "spokesperson" communicates that doing so is not a good idea. Ouch...that hurts my heart...poor me
and as for the throwing away of the national flower....maybe Mr. Chanthalangsy shouldn't put down khon Lao<<<<or atleast thats what he communicates in my opinion...
and the person who posted second: clappppp clappppp well said

his critiscism was actually more embarrasing to me than any soap opera could be.
and some Lao ppl do know her...teenagers know her...but why does her popularity status matter? She is doing good for herself. If one Lao person doesn't know another Lao person, does that make either person less valuable to our society or us as a people? i don't think so....and i think that is our way of life....we are not as individualistic as western societies so shouldn't that mean that we support our own people for great things they are doing? instead of put them down, because if u put one of us down, you may be bringing all of us down.
Then you have some peopl who do wear sin everyday and some people who don't...55555 thats just personal choice...i'm not looking at what u wear....i'm more interrrested in what u have to say or knowing what u think....but tthat's just me

Popularity is popularity...people like listening to music....people like watching TV....if i had the talent of being able to become a performer in both music and television....i would use my talent...but not everyone has this talent....so popularity or attension mostly goes to those who use their talent for show....u can claim her as khon Lao, but she is the one to truly identify her self...and who are we to judge? PANDA pen luuk sord keu gun....i am proud of who i am...she should be too...
to sum this long post up....i just want to say that positive critiscism is useful and negative critiscism is unuseful, if not destructive...hence the term "constructive critiscism"....
and as for Mr. "Spokesperson"......i wish i could have a calm and constructive conversation with him...which means tong pai hien pa sa Lao kon....or maybe we need a new spokesperson huhuhuhu jk
omg! this post is long
