Why Lao American and other countries are afraid.

actually, i don't trust any nation to do business with Laos because the way countries run, it's all about some economic gain on their part. Of course there maybe gains on both sides. at times, there can be severe repercussions in the exploitation of both sides.

If the money at risk is your own, you are investing without being backed by any corporate business, and you are looking for potential profits...consider it very risky.

However, if there is no profit to gain on your side, you may have nothing to worry about. That is highly unlikely for most people because money runs this world.

one idea i had was just to make an agreement with an established small business to host my service/product. i would agree to pay for the initial costs of set-up, marketing, and the difference of the monthly expense of the product/service if there are not enough customers. then this service/product is offered to the public. as long as the service/product is available to me free of charge, the established business that is hosting my service/product can keep the profits. this will make my monthly expenses on the product/service less because i get it free. as time goes by, it should sustain itself given that it is desired, convenient, and affordable to the public. however if it fails, i only lose the initial set-up cost, marketing costs, and any monthly expenses when profits are less than 0. The risk would not be high because I am only trying to avoid an expense that would normally be mine to begin with.

If it was possible to make business agreements to avoid the cost of al my expenses, I would be making those deals and maintaining them. There are some, but I have yet to figure them out. This kind of investing can really help build a strong network. If expenses are covered, any money that is made from hard work can be spent on other things or even stand the chance of investing in more riskier business.

i think if i could begin investing in this way as a foundation, fear of making investment ventures in Laos would not be any problem.

I've been hearing a lot of bad stories about that Sulaphet LaoStar TV guy. It looks like there are more Lao people in Laos that he borrowed the money and never paid them back. The worst one was LaoBC TV from America where he actually created problems and took over LaoBC TV in Vientiane and barred the Lao Americans from entering Laos. I cannot believe why the Lao authority believed in him when so many people are being cheated and scammed off by Mr. Sulaphet. Then there's ThaiTV IPTV that Sulaphet is doing some business with and I hope they find out his bad side.
